About the Journey Into The Bible Series

Are you willing to take the first step—and to risk a new faith journey?

New for January 2008 and written by Catholic biblical scholars, Journey Into the Bible engages participants in an interactive and faith-building program as they study one book of the Bible at a time.

Designed for small groups of adults who want to deepen their faith, this six-week program is direct, easy to lead, and easy to participate in. Beginning with the Book of Exodus, participants will read the Bible, discuss it, and discover how to apply it to their lives.

Each book of the Bible is covered in six lessons with six handouts; each handout treats a specific theme particular to that book. Illustrated with maps and timelines, the lessons introduce participants to the Bible from the perspectives of its writers, their backgrounds, and the cultures of the Old and New Testaments so that participants can appreciate the power of the message for believers of yesterday and today.

The first study in the series, the Book of Exodus, is written by Fr. William Parker, C.Ss.R., Scripture professor at St. Louis University and former Editor in Chief of Liguorian magazine.
